Job summary

Axalta is seeking a Manufacturing Operator (Chemical Mixing) in Madison, AL, on 3:00pm–11:30pm shift after training on 1st shift. The role focuses on batch mixing, pre-mixing, filling, testing, sampling and cleaning, with emphasis on safe operation of production equipment and adherence to SOPs.

You will learn all facets of production, including labeling, filtering, and handling hazardous materials, while working in a team environment and contributing to quality and efficiency goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• At least 2 years manufacturing (plant/industrial) experience.
• Experience with chemical mixing or batch making is highly preferred.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Pre-mix and material loading for batches.
• Fill product into shipping containers and perform testing and sampling.
• Clean and maintain work area, follow SOPs and safety rules.
• Operate production equipment safely and manage batch records.
• Set up filtering equipment and follow batch ticket instructions.
• Unload/load bulk materials and operate material handling equipment.

The successful candidate in an Operator position will be trained in all facets of production (pre-mixing and material loading for batches, filling product into shipping containers, distribution, testing, sampling, and cleaning) to learn these essential duties of the position. The incumbent must operate production equipment safely to ensure the highest quality and correct quantity in accordance with the production schedule, standard operating procedures and supervisory instructions. Position duties and responsibilities can change regularly based on business needs. Operators will understand the mechanics of how to operate various types of equipment with confidence. Types of equipment include but are not limited to, labeler, filler machines, air pumps, high speed dispersers, air mixers, and weight scales within the department. Solve routine problems associated with job responsibilities.
