Job summary

Preferred Materials, Inc. in Florida is seeking a Manufacturing Operator for the night shift (6pm–6am) to support safe plant operations and efficient production. You will operate a forklift, perform light machine maintenance, and assist in keeping equipment in good working order.

The role requires basic mechanical skills, the use of power/hand tools, and a strong commitment to safety in a fast-paced environment. Eligible employees receive bonuses, benefits, and retirement plans.

This role is for night shift - 6pm to 6am.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

• Must be able to efficiently operate a forklift.
• Adjusts calibration of machines, makes general repairs and cleans/installs molds and all parts of the machinery as needed to maintain safe operations.
• May use power and hand tools to maintain and repair equipment
• Shovels, sweeps and rakes up debris from base of machinery.
• Communicates effectively and efficiently with all personnel.
• Properly conducts inspections of the forklift to ensure safe operation and reports any issues to maintenance.
• Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Maintains a strict adherence to company policies, safety policies, and OSHA regulations at all times.
• Must be available to travel and work from other company facilities as needed.
• Must possess a professional attitude while interacting with peers, contractors and general public.
• Stands for long periods of time in hot weather or current conditions
• May perform other related duties as required or directed. Including to travel and work from other company facilities as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to communicate, understand, and follow both written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to use basic hand tools and complete basic mechanical repairs.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays when necessary. Regular and timely attendance is required.
• Must pass pre-employment requirements, drug screen, criminal background check.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must demonstrate a strong commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of related construction experience preferred.
• Mechanical knowledge and skills are preferred.
