Job summary

Kerry Group in Clark, NJ is seeking a Manufacturing Operator for the 3rd shift (Friday–Monday). The role focuses on formulating products from raw materials, operating spray drying equipment, and ensuring strict adherence to food safety and SQF procedures. Pay is $26/hr with a $2 shift differential, onsite only.

Shifts run Friday 10:30pm–6:00am, Saturday and Sunday 6:00pm–6:00am, and Monday 10:30pm–6:00am. Requires HS or equivalent and flavour industry experience.

Qualifications

• Must have experience within the Flavour or a closely related industry.
• Must be proficient in compounding techniques and raw materials.

Responsibilities

• Formulate products from raw materials, including compounding liquids and preparing emulsions.
• Operate, clean and maintain processing equipment.
• Understand and apply Spray Dry technology; operate spray drying units.
• Follow batch sheets and labeling; ensure product quality and proper allergen handling.

About the role

they have two buildings. The North building has a fruitier smell to it, the teams in that building are producing natural flavorings and essential oils. The South building is the complete opposite, it will have savoury and garlic smells because the team is producing seasonings for meat, chicken broth, and beef gravy.

Pay Rate/Hourly Rate/shift differential: $26 plus Shift differential of 2.00
Shift/Working Hours:
Friday 10:30pm to 6 am
Sat and Sunday 6 pm to 6 am
Monday 10:30pm to 6 am

Key responsibilities

• Product Formulation from raw materials including but not limited to Compounding various liquid formulas and preparing emulsions used in product formulas.
• Operation, Cleaning and Maintenance or processing equipment
• Basic Understanding of Spray Dry technology
• Operation of various spray drying units to achieve desire results
• Follow all manufacturing instructions on formula batch sheet using proper compounding techniques to ensure product quality.
• Packaging of Finished Product associated with spray drying
• Properly label all batches submitted to the lab for evaluation.
• Utilize inventory lot rotation (FIFO) for all materials used.
• Follow all 5S and Good Manufacturing procedures to maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations.
• Proper handling of Allergen products and equipment according to Allergen Control Procedures
• Responsible for conformance to Food Safety and Food Quality Plans as described in the Kerry Clark SQF Systems manual. Must report any and all deviations to a member of management and QA- and set product aside until further instructed.

Qualifications and skills

• HS or equivalent experience
• Must have experience within the Flavour or a closely related industry.
• Must be proficient in compounding techniques and raw materials.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and move up to 400 pounds. Must be able to operate forklifts and other equipment integral to the job functions. Must be able to see and distinguish between labels. Must be able to stand for extended periods and walk through the warehouse. Must be certified to wear a respirator and follow all rules regarding respirator wear.

Working Environment:Factory environment with exposure to flavors, and basic product chemicals and raw materials.

Compensation Data

The pay rate for this position is $25.00 per hour.
