Job summary

Kerry Clark facility in Clark, NJ, part of the Taste Division, produces flavors and ingredients for foods and beverages. The role involves training on first/off shifts with weekend work as needed, and working in a two-building site with distinct flavor profiles in the North and South buildings.

Pay rate is $24.00 per hour with a .50 shift differential; shift is 2:30 PM–10:30 PM. This position requires physical capability and adherence to GMP, safety, and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months experience in warehouse/manufacturing.
• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs., push up to a 450 lb. drum on a roller conveyor, and stand for prolonged periods.
• Read, write, speak the English language.
• Follow GMP and housekeeping procedures to prevent contamination.
• HS or equivalent required; flavor industry experience preferred.
• Proficient in compounding techniques and raw materials; proficient with scales and compounding equipment.

Responsibilities

• Compound formulas accurately by weight and ingredients using approved methods.
• Maintain knowledge of all raw materials and ensure quality and batch consistency.
• Use FIFO inventory rotation for all materials.
• Operate pumps, mixers, scales, forklifts, and related equipment.
• Follow batch sheets and proper labeling for lab submissions.

About the role

Our Clark location is part of our Taste Division, producing flavors and ingredients. Our Clark facility is unique in the sense they have two buildings. The North building has a fruitier smell to it, the teams in that building are producing natural flavorings and essential oils. The South building is the complete opposite, it will have savoury and garlic smells because the team is producing seasonings for meat, chicken broth, and beef gravy.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

Training will take place on a first shift or on off shifts. Must be available for weekend work as needed. *Shift subject to change*

Key responsibilities

• Compound formulas accurately by weight and by ingredients and ensure that the best methodology is utilized based upon the particular product or mix.
• Possess and apply working knowledge of all raw materials before use, i.e mixing/heating to ensure quality and consistency in batches.
• Utilize inventory lot rotation (FIFO) for all materials used.
• Possess and apply working knowledge of all pumps, mixers, scales, fork trucks, high density storage units, meters, and computers.
• Follow all manufacturing instructions on formula batch sheet using proper mixing techniques to ensure product quality.
• Properly label all batches submitted to the lab for evaluation.
• Follow all 5S and Good Manufacturing Practices to maintain good housekeeping and ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws and regulations.
• Proper handling of Allergen products and equipment according to Allergen Control Procedures
• Other duties assigned by Management

• Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs., push up to a 450 lb. metal drum on a roller conveyor, and stand for prolonged periods.
• Read, write, speak the English language.
• Follow Proper housekeeping and sanitary GMP procedures to prevent product contamination; use clean tools and utensils and properly stored or hung to prevent product contamination.
• Minimum Requirements
• HS or equivalent experience
• Must have experience within the Flavor or a closely related industry.
• Must be proficient in compounding techniques and raw materials.
• Must be proficient in the use of scales and other compounding equipment

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and move up to 400 pounds. Must be able to operate forklifts and other equipment integral to the job functions. Must be able to see and distinguish between labels. Must be able to stand for extended periods and walk through the warehouse. Must be certified to wear a respirator and follow all rules regarding respirator wear.

Compensation Data

The pay rate for this position is $24.00 per hour.
