Job summary

Kalogon is seeking a Manufacturing Operator to own the entire 3D printing process and post-processing of custom medical equipment for wheelchair users.

You will run resin and FDM printers, perform post-processing, inspect parts, and collaborate with R&D on prototypes to drive quality and efficiency. The role is on-site in Melbourne, with a Monday–Friday 11:00 AM–8:00 PM schedule.

Qualifications

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and quick learner.
  • Problem-solver who thinks on their feet.
  • Background in manufacturing, fabrication, machining, or a maker/technical environment is a plus.
  • Background in 3D-modeling or CAM is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Run a bank of resin and FDM 3D printers, staging jobs and harvesting finished parts.
  • Post-process printed parts: support removal, washing, curing, cleanup, and finishing.
  • Perform first-pass inspection on every part for defects before Quality Control.
  • Diagnose floor issues and implement practical fixes.
  • Collaborate with R&D on prototypes and pilot builds.

Manufacturing Operator, 3D Printing

Kalogon, a smart seating startup based in Melbourne, seeks a Manufacturing Operator to help us build cutting-edge medical equipment using 3D printers.

As our Manufacturing Operator, you will be responsible for owning the entire process of 3D printing and processing custom-made medical equipment for individuals who use wheelchairs.

Hours
  • 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Key Responsibilities
  • Run a bank of resin and FDM 3D printers, staging jobs, starting prints, and harvesting finished parts to keep machines producing through the shift.
  • Post-process printed parts: support removal, washing, curing, cleanup, and finishing to established standards.
  • Perform first-pass inspection on every part, catching print defects (layer shift, warping, incomplete cure, poor bed adhesion) before they reach Quality Control.
  • Diagnose issues on the floor and implement practical fixes.
  • Contribute ideas to reduce cycle time and improve quality.
  • Collaborate with R&D on prototypes and pilot builds.

Physical Requirements
  • Standing and moving around the production floor for most of the shift.
  • Lifting and carrying build plates, printed parts, and materials up to 25 lbs.
  • Fine motor work including support removal, small part handling, and detail finishing for extended periods
