Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations and supervise a team of production employees in a fast-paced aerospace environment. You will oversee shop floor activities, workforce planning, production scheduling, and drive safety, quality, delivery, and cost improvements.

This onsite role is based in Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico. The selected candidate will work 2nd shift, 2:00 p.m.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
  • Experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required to access information under this program/contract.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily manufacturing operations, including shop floor activities, workforce management, and production flow to ensure safety, quality, and delivery objectives.
  • Lead and coach production employees by assigning work, setting priorities, monitoring performance, and fostering development.
  • Coordinate production schedules, staffing, and workflow to meet customer commitments and maximize efficiency.
  • Monitor production metrics, identify performance gaps, and implement corrective actions to improve productivity and reduce downtime.
  • Ensure quality compliance by verifying documentation, supporting audits, and driving corrective actions.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and other teams to resolve production and material issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and cost-reduction efforts to enhance performance.
  • Coordinate material availability and logistics to minimize disruptions and maintain schedules.
  • Drive a culture of safety by adhering to policies and EH&S standards.
  • Interface with customers to resolve issues and ensure on-time delivery.

Job description

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to lead daily manufacturing operations and supervise a team of production employees in a fast-paced aerospace environment. In this role, you will oversee shop floor activities, workforce planning, production scheduling, and operational performance while ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, delivery, and cost. You will partner with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement, resolve production challenges, and support the successful execution of manufacturing operations.

This onsite position is based at our Santa Isabel, Puerto Rico location. You must be residing in Puerto Rico at the time of starting employment. Relocation is not offered.

Work Schedule:

This position supports 2nd Shift operations. Candidates must be available to work the following schedule based on business needs:

2nd Shift: Monday through Friday, 2:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

What You Will Do:
  • Supervise daily manufacturing operations, including shop floor activities, workforce management, and production flow to ensure safety, quality, and delivery objectives are achieved.

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards by verifying documentation, supporting audits, and driving corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and other cross-functional teams to resolve production and material issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives, cost reduction efforts, and manufacturing process enhancements to improve operational performance.
  • Coordinate material availability and logistics activities to minimize production disruptions and maintain manufacturing schedules.
  • Drive a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and environmental, health, and safety standards.
  • Interface with internal and external customers to resolve operational issues and ensure exceptional service and on-time delivery.
Qualifications You Must Have:
  • Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 2 years prior relevant experience with specialized knowledge of technical or operational practices.
  • Demonstrated professional or educational experience communicating in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
  • Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing operations or a similar production environment.
  • Experience with production planning, workforce scheduling, and shop floor management.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Experience supporting quality systems and manufacturing process improvements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience working in aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated manufacturing industries.
