Job summary

PDS Tech Commercial is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Planner for Amarillo, TX to bridge engineering data and factory execution in aircraft production. You will transform released engineering data into clear, repeatable manufacturing plans, work instructions, tooling requirements, and build sequences.

The role collaborates with Engineering, Manufacturing and IE teams to resolve issues, implement process improvements, and ensure accurate information flows to the shop floor.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in production or manufacturing planning.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production planning principles.
• Understanding of tooling methodologies and assembly processes.
• Ability to read blueprints and Digital Product Definition, including CAD and GD&T.
• Experience with manufacturing or ERP systems.
• Collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, IE and production teams.
• Strong problem-solving in fast-paced environments.

Responsibilities

PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leader in the aviation industry to hire a Manufacturing Operations Planner in Amarillo, TX . In this role, you'll bridge the gap between engineering and the factory floor, transforming released engineering data into clear, efficient, and repeatable manufacturing plans that help keep aircraft production moving.

Position Details

• Job Title: Manufacturing Operations Planner

• Location: Amarillo, TX

• Job Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Contract

• Pay Rate: $25.00 to $42.00 per hour

• Schedule: Monday through Friday

• Hours: 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Your Impact

As a Manufacturing Operations Planner , you'll play a key role in developing the processes used to assemble aircraft products at the Amarillo Assembly Center.

You'll take released engineering information and translate it into actionable manufacturing plans, including work instructions, tooling requirements, production changes, and build sequences . You'll also partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and other production teams to solve problems, improve processes, and ensure the factory floor has accurate information when it's needed most.

What You'll Be Doing

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Incorporating engineering changes using established systems, policies, and procedures while coordinating updates with Change Management and Manufacturing customers.

• Utilizing CAD systems to analyze tooling requirements and participate in tooling design and evaluation for aircraft assemblies.

• Providing timely support to the factory floor to ensure accurate changes are incorporated into released production orders.

• Reconciling the Engineering Bill of Material (BOM) with the Manufacturing Bill of Material to ensure proper material consumption and resolve discrepancies.

• Partnering with Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering teams to develop efficient, repeatable build sequences for major assemblies.

• Applying your understanding of aircraft assembly processes and tooling index requirements.

• Providing responsive liaison support directly to manufacturing operations.

• Troubleshooting routine production challenges involving redline support, tooling, and manufacturing processes.

• Supporting root cause corrective actions to address manufacturing issues and prevent recurrence.

• Identifying opportunities for tooling and process improvements that enhance manufacturing operations.

• Helping ensure engineering requirements are successfully translated into practical, repeatable production processes.

Required Qualifications

We're looking for candidates who bring:

• 3 to 5 years of experience in Production Planning, Manufacturing Planning, or a closely related area.

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and production planning principles.

• Understanding of tooling methodologies and assembly processes.

• Ability to effectively interpret and interrogate blueprints and Digital Product Definition , including CAD and GD&T.

• Experience working with manufacturing or ERP systems.

• Ability to collaborate across Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, and production teams.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to support manufacturing operations in a fast-paced production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

You'll stand out with:

• An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline .

• Previous experience with aircraft assembly or aviation manufacturing .

• Experience using 3DX (Dassault), PEO (SAP), and SAP .

• MRB experience .

• Experience supporting root cause corrective actions and manufacturing process improvements.

• Familiarity with tooling design, evaluation, and requirements for aircraft manufacturing.

Pay Details:

$25.00 to $42.00 per hour
