We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Manufacturing Operations Manager to lead our steel manufacturing facility toward excellence. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily production activities, optimize manufacturing processes, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your leadership will ensure that production goals are met efficiently, quality standards are upheld, and safety protocols are rigorously followed. Duties
- Lead and coordinate all aspects of manufacturing operations, including production scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
- Implement and maintain manufacturing management systems such as SAP, ERP systems, and MRP to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and process improvement techniques to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
- Oversee supply chain management and logistics coordination to ensure timely procurement of materials and delivery of finished goods.
- Analyze production data using Excel and analytics tools to identify trends, forecast needs, and support strategic decision-making.
- Manage cross-functional communication between engineering, quality control, maintenance, and supply chain teams to foster collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental policies across all manufacturing activities.
- Develop and mentor a high-performing team of supervisors and operators through effective team leadership and training programs.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree and a minimum 8-10 years of experience in steel manufacturing environment, with strong knowledge of manufacturing management systems such as SAP or similar ERP platforms.
- Demonstrated expertise in budgets, work force planning, production planning, and scheduling using MRP systems.
- Strong background in Lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma certifications preferred, with a focus on process improvement and safety leader. IATF 16949 knowledge.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with hands-on experience in plant management or operations management roles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting; familiarity with other tools like supply chain management software is a plus.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills to coordinate efforts across departments effectively.
- Ability to lead teams confidently while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
- Knowledge and experience with AIAG Core Tools preferred.
