Talent Finders, LLC seeks an experienced Manufacturing Operations Manager to oversee four departments in a 40K sq ft facility in Washington. You will report to the President and drive ERP implementation, forecasting, and high-mix/low-volume production.

The role requires strong leadership, budget oversight, and a focus on KPI-driven performance while maintaining a safe, efficient operation and a positive culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain or Business.
  • 8+ years of manufacturing operations leadership experience.
  • Experience with high mix, low volume environments.
  • Strong background with ERP systems and KPI tracking.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage all operations departments including machining, assembly, inventory, purchasing, and quality control to meet company goals.
  • Assist in ERP implementation, develop scheduling, labor and cost tracking, forecasting, purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Forecast requirements, prepare budgets, schedule expenditures, and analyze variances.
  • Recruit, train, and coach staff; manage performance and personnel actions.
  • Collaborate with President and leadership to oversee the facility budget and process improvements.
  • Ensure safe, healthy work environment and compliance with regulations.

Job description

Vertically Integrated Manufacturer of Highly Engineered Electro-Mechanical Products used in the Marine Industry seeks an expeirenced Manufacturing Operations Manager to join the team. This role will oversee 4 departmental managers (purchasing, and 3 distinct manufacturing area leaders) and report directly to the President. This role will will be critical to the continued successful of the operation. Will oversee all facets of operations within this 40K square foot manufacturing intensive facility. This individual will also be a key person influencing an upcoming ERP implementation that will bring together product lines and processes that were previously folded into the operation via acquistions. This individual should have a strong background leading high mix, low volume manufacturing operations to include background in Supply Chain and Planning/Forecasting. Responsibilities
  • Directly manage all operations departments including machining, assembly, inventory, purchasing, and quality control to meet company goals and sales and profit projections.
  • Assist in implementation of a new ERP system. Develop job scheduling capabilities, labor and job cost tracking, demand forecasting, purchasing, and inventory management.
  • Contribute operations information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; implement production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolve problems; complete audits; identify trends.
  • Forecast requirements; prepare an annual budget; schedule expenditures; analyze variances, identify and initiate corrective actions.
  • Recruit, select, train, assign, schedule, coach, develop and discipline employees.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, selection and hiring; training new and existing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; authoring and discussing with employees’ performance appraisals; addressing employee performance and corrective action plans; employee motivation and rewards.
  • Organizing the operational budget of the company in collaboration with the President, and Leadership Team members.
  • Develop operations systems by determining product handling and storage requirements; develop, implement, enforce, and evaluate policies and procedures; develop processes for receiving products, equipment utilization, inventory management and shipping.
  • Analyze process workflow, employee and space requirements and equipment layout; implement changes as required to achieve company goals and revenue objectives.
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
  • Communicate customer issues with operations team and devise ways of improving customer experience, including resolving problems and complaints.
  • Lead by example to reinforce Company Core Values and drive desired company culture.
  • Overall responsibility for building and maintenance.
Qualifications
  • Bachelors' Degree required. Engineering, Supply Chain, or Business focus preferred.
  • 8+ years of manufacturing operations leadership experience
  • Experience in high mix, low volume manufacturing preferred
  • Strong background in Enterprise Resoure Planning
  • Experience with CNC Machining, Composites, and/or Assembly environments preferred
  • Proven background owning KPI's and meeting or exceeding those metrics.
