Job summary

EASTERN SURFACES is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead the countertop manufacturing facility in Allentown, PA. You will direct daily operations, coordinate workflow across departments, and drive efficiency, safety, and quality on the shop floor.

You will identify bottlenecks, implement corrective actions, and lead lean initiatives while developing teams and managing costs. A strong background in manufacturing leadership and ERP/MRP systems is essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or similar environment.
• 5+ years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Operations, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business, or a related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience will be considered.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with production scheduling, ERP/MRP systems, budgets, and operational KPIs.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, 5S, or other process-improvement methodologies is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily manufacturing operations and coordinate workflow across departments.
• Balance manpower, machine capacity, workload, materials, and customer delivery requirements.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to maintain workflow.
• Coordinate closely with Sales, Scheduling, Installation, Purchasing, Warehouse, and other departments.
• Develop and maintain process maps and standardized work procedures.
• Lead continuous-improvement initiatives using root-cause analysis and Lean principles.
• Take ownership of reducing remakes, rework, scrap, and installation-related issues.
• Monitor labor, overtime, material usage, productivity, and operating expenses.
• Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and production employees.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure quality standards.
