Job description


The Welding Process Engineering Body-in-White (BIW) Process Engineer (PE) will lead and follow up on development and implementation of BIW Automatic process equipment, tools, and related facilities for new model assembly production in one or more Stellantis assembly plants. The PE ensures automatic or manual processes and equipment meet all Stellantis requirements and specifications while meeting the cost and timing requirements of the program. The PE follow up on the deliverables provided by suppliers and ensures program launch targets are achieved for the lines or systems he (she) is assigned to. The PE interface with multiple organizations (Product Engineering, Vehicle Assembly, Quality, etc.) to understand components/subsystems for vehicles; use information obtained to generate process sheets, assembly layouts, installation tooling plans as well as special manufacturing requirements; lead Process Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities with the platform team for new/critical processes. The PE participates on determining the complete tooling requirements to produce a world class manufactured product, including costs estimates, and vendor quotations, requisition development through procurement systems, vendor evaluations, etc.



Basic Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent experience

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in manufacturing

  • Ability to effectively work and interact with all levels of the organization

  • Strong oral, written, presentation and organizational skills

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Program/project management experience

  • Vehicle manufacturing experience

  • Knowledge of Teamcenter Manufacturing and VIS Mock-up Microsoft Excel power-user desired

  • Knowledge of mechanical design
