Atlantic Design, Inc in the Baltimore area is seeking a Manufacturing Mechanic / Entry Level Welder. This full-time role involves assembling stock parts and fabricating metal components using MIG welding and a range of hand and power tools.

You will read blueprints, measure with tape, and work carefully to maintain quality and productivity. A valid driver's license, overtime willingness, and ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year mechanical, assembly and manufacturing experience.
• Mig welding training or experience required.
• Strong hand and power tool knowledge.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to read tape measure and perform basic math.
• Reading welding blueprints and weld symbols preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and pass drug screening.

Job description

Our client – Atlantic Design – is seeking a Manufacturing Mechanic / Entry Level Welder.

Atlantic Design, Inc is an established leader in the design of custom equipment for the blasting and coating industry. We are currently seeking Manufacturing Mechanics with a strong work ethic for our growing company in the Baltimore area. This is a full-time position with benefits.

Mechanics are responsible for a variety of mechanical and welding tasks in order to assemble stock parts and install pre-fabricated structural components in the building of our equipment. Duties include joining, repairing, and performing light fabrication of metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques and operating various welding / fitting / fabrication tools. Mechanics also utilize hand tools and machinery to cut, shape, and assemble metal parts. Must maintain productivity and quality output.

Expectations / Qualifications:

• Minimum of 1 year mechanical, assembly and manufacturing experience required, ideally in an industrial setting.
• Training and/or prior experience with Mig welding required, to include a basic understanding of machines and tools used in welding.
• Strong hand/power tool knowledge and experience required, as demonstrated through work experience.
• High School diploma or GED.
• Good general math skills and ability to read tape measure.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Dependable with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to read blueprints and weld symbols preferred.
• Must be capable of physical demands of the position including walking, standing, climbing, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling and lifting/moving (up to 50 pounds).
• Must be able to work in a manufacturing environment, recognizing various sounds and temperatures.
• Must have a driver's license.
• Must be willing to work overtime.
• Must be able to pass Drug screening test.

Starting pay will be $20 to $24 per hour, depending on experience and training needed. We may be willing to pay more based on applicable mechanical and mig welding work experiences (we do conduct a weld test).
