Job Description Summary
As a member of the Operations team, you will help lead safe, reliable, and efficient shop operations while supporting your team in meeting production goals, improving quality and productivity, and driving continuous improvement across the Generator Cell.
What you’ll do
- Provide day-to-day production leadership for the Generator Winding shop team to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
- Coordinate workflow, staffing, and resources to meet customer requirements, production schedules, and key objectives for safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Lead first-line shop activities across multiple shifts, partnering with Technical Leads, Quality Technicians, and other support functions to ensure smooth execution of work.
- Review production orders, execute schedules, and remove barriers that could impact output, quality, or timeliness.
- Identify and solve problems, eliminate waste, and drive visual management and Daily Management System discipline across the department.
- Analyze equipment, skill, and process issues, take corrective action, and help minimize downtime and disruption to schedules.
- Support process improvement efforts and assist the Cell Leader in making decisions that improve repairs execution and resource use.
- Perform administrative responsibilities such as time sheet review and approval, labor vouchering, requisitions, and workforce scheduling.
- Coach, motivate, and develop team members to strengthen performance, teamwork, safety, quality, and productivity.
- Use strong communication and leadership skills to support a positive, accountable, and high‑performing team environment.
What you’ll bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor or Associate’s degree from an accredited university or college, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of experience in a manufacturing role.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing, repair, or services environment.
- Prior leadership experience in a similar setting.

- Power Generation or Heavy Industrial leadership experience.
- 3+ years of prior leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Lean Manufacturing experience or training.
- Proven team‑building and people leadership skills.
- Strong ability to coach, counsel, and motivate a workforce.
- Demonstrated success in bringing assignments to completion.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust across teams.
Eligibility Requirements
- Willing and able to work extended shifts, weekends, and holidays when needed.
- This role will not provide sponsorship.
- This position is 100% onsite at the GE Richmond Service Center.

Pay & Bonus
- For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $81,700.00 and $136,700.00.
- The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas.
- Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
