Newell Corporation is currently looking to add an experienced Machine Shop Manager to our team in order to start a weekend shift. Individuals from outside of WA are encouraged to apply as relocation assistance is available.

Newell Corp. offers a wide variety of welding, fabricating, machining & assembly services at our facility located in Arlington, WA.

As a Machine Shop Manager at Newell Corp, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth workflow over the weekend through our large milling and turning departments. This includes monitoring/troubleshooting equipment issues, programming, set ups and machine operation to keep product flowing through the shop continuously and efficiently.

The ideal candidate for this role would have worked for many years as a machinist/programmer on large horizontal boring mills, vertical lathes and horizontal lathes, transitioned to leadership and wants to build their own team. This will be a hands-on position and will require a leader who wants to lead by example and run machines as well as lead.

• Set-up and manage CNC machines to perform different jobs including drilling, grinding and milling.
• Translate engineering drawings and requirements into dimensions for production.
• Hire, train, and develop machine shop staff.
• Plan and manage work schedules.
• Effectively communicate with cross-functional departments to ensure a clear understanding of priorities and project requirements.
• Oversee maintenance and operation of machinery, equipment, and tools.
• Analyze and resolve production issues and find solutions to ensure smooth workflow and quality products.
• 5+ years of experience managing a heavy industrial, machine shop manufacturing facility.
• 5+ years of experience managing a facility with an AS9100 quality management system.
• 10+ years of experience setting up and operating large format CNC lathes & mills.
• 3+ years of experience programming in MasterCAM, FeatureCAM, or similar.
• Strong understanding of machining & fabrication fundamentals.
• Strong work ethic, personal drive and vision to develop a growing machine shop.
• Experience using CAD software such as CATIA and/or Solidworks for tooling design.
• Experience with basic computer programming for machine macros and Excel scripts.

Salary Range: $115,000-$125,000 base salary plus performance incentives
