Doherty Staffing Solutions is partnering with a leading manufacturing company in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area to hire a Manufacturing Manager. This hands-on leadership role oversees production operations, mentors manufacturing leaders, and drives performance in a fast-paced, high-mix environment.

You will lead cross-functional teams, align schedules, and support ISO 13485 and Lean initiatives while ensuring customer commitments are fulfilled and operations scale with growth.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in CNC machining or precision manufacturing.
• Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing leadership or management role.
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems; JobBOSS preferred.
• Strong coaching and development of production teams.

This hands‑on leadership role is responsible for overseeing production operations, developing and mentoring manufacturing leaders, and driving operational performance in a fast‑paced, high‑mix manufacturing environment. What You’ll Do as a Manufacturing Manager:

• Lead daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production resources, schedules, and priorities are aligned to meet on‑time delivery, quality, and revenue goals.
• Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, proactively addressing operational challenges, removing bottlenecks, and ensuring jobs are fully prepared for efficient execution.
• Develop, mentor, and support Department Leads and operations personnel through coaching, performance feedback, goal setting, and leadership development initiatives.
• Collaborate with Planning, Engineering, Quality, Metrology, and Commercial teams to align production capacity with customer requirements and business objectives.
• Oversee workforce planning, scheduling, material flow, and production activities across multiple facilities to optimize capacity and maintain operational continuity.
• Support facility expansion projects and CNC equipment relocations, ensuring seamless production transitions, equipment validation, and minimal disruption to operations.
• Promote adherence to standard operating procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements while supporting ISO 13485 compliance, audit readiness, CAPA activities, Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S practices, and continuous improvement efforts.
• Drive a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and operational excellence throughout the manufacturing organization.

What You Need to Bring to the Manufacturing Manager Role:

• 10+ years of experience in CNC machining or precision manufacturing, including a minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing leadership or management role.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining processes, tooling strategies, and continuous improvement methodologies that drive efficiency, quality, and productivity.
• Demonstrated success leading, coaching, and developing production teams while fostering accountability and high performance in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems for production planning, scheduling, and operational management; JobBOSS experience is highly preferred.
• Familiarity with CNC programming, G-code, and CAD/CAM software, with the ability to effectively support and collaborate with technical teams.
• Proven problem‑solving, decision‑making, and organizational skills with a focus on meeting operational goals and customer expectations.
• Strong communication and cross‑functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Supply Chain teams.
