Job Purpose

Skilled Trade Requirements - Responsible for installation, maintenance, modifications, repair, upgrades, chemical unloading, inspections, and tests on manufacturing equipment supporting fiber optic processes and abatement systems. Must have knowledge of process systems including piping, alloy, polymer, glass hardware, and related components. Skills include installation, cutting, bending, threading, welding, flaring, valve installation, and system repair. Troubleshooting using PLC trending, borescopes, and gas detection devices is required.

Operational Requirements

Support fiber optic processes by unloading hazardous chemicals, operating abatement devices, and collaborating with engineers on design and prototype equipment involving electrical, mechanical, and computer-controlled systems.

Process Safety Requirements

May require OSHA Hazwoper certification, work in self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical suits, and compliance with emissions and waste regulations. Support spill team, maintain gas detection systems, and assist emergency response as needed.

PLC/PC Requirements

Basic computer skills required. Operate chemical delivery and emission control systems, analyze trends, troubleshoot PLC-controlled devices, and support manufacturing and safety systems.

Minimum Education & Experience

• Two years of accredited trades school or equivalent practical experience.
• Two years of work experience in the trade.

Additional Qualifications

• Ability to work any shift or schedule.
• Adherence to safety practices, maintaining a clean work area, and safety-conscious behavior.
