Job summary

Catapult Employers Association is seeking a skilled Manufacturing Maintenance Technician to support equipment reliability and production in a fast-paced plant near New London, NC. This hands-on role requires troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of automated production equipment to minimize downtime and ensure safe operation.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience, strong mechanical/electrical skills, and the ability to read manuals and schematics.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 3+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
• Experience with automated machinery and computerized production equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, drives, conveyors, and industrial controls.
• Ability to read manuals, wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical drawings.
• Experience with preventive maintenance programs and CMMS is preferred.
• Basic PLC troubleshooting preferred.
• Welding, fabrication, and machining experience is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently while supporting a team-oriented culture.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on manufacturing equipment and production systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC-controlled equipment to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions to minimize downtime.
• Inspect machinery and equipment to identify wear, damage, or potential failures.
• Repair and replace motors, bearings, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, sensors, valves, and other industrial components.
• Assist with machine installations, upgrades, and process improvement projects.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and repair documentation.
• Support root cause analysis efforts and recommend corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures.
• Collaborate with production personnel to optimize equipment performance and production efficiency.
• Maintain housekeeping standards within maintenance work areas.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, throughput, and cost reduction.
