Maintenance Technician

Franklin Park, IL
Pay:
$25.00 - $30.00 (depends on experience)
Shift:
6:30am to 5pm Tuesday to Friday

Job Responsibilities:
- Perform mechanical installations and repairs across manufacturing, cleanroom, and facility operations.
- Maintain and repair equipment such as pumps, piping systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, tanks, agitators, packaging/conveyor systems, and utility systems (air compressors, dryers, chillers).
- Respond promptly to mechanical breakdowns and ensure proper operation of utility equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance, complete work orders, and lead improvement projects.
- Record all maintenance activities in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Provide on-call support for breakdowns and urgent issues outside of normal shifts.
- Identify and lead medium-scale Continuous Improvement projects.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency with testing devices and tools for troubleshooting, installing, and repairing motor control circuits, PLC hardware, instrumentation, I/O network cabling, VFDs, and electrical equipment.
- Understanding of state and local building regulations based on the Electrical Code.
- Knowledge of NFPA 70E and electrical safety practices.
- IBEW membership and/or electrical license is a plus but not required.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams for electrical installations.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing air diaphragm pumps, conveying/material handling equipment, and instrumentation calibration.

Education:
- High school diploma (HS) or GED required.
- Trade school degree preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 45 lbs manually.
