Job summary

Atrium, a Tampa-based manufacturing organization, is seeking an Accountant to support the accounting team during a growth phase. This long-term consulting engagement emphasizes hands-on GL work, strong Excel skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will handle journal entries, reconciliations, month-end close, and data validation, contributing to compliance and system improvements while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent professional experience.
• Approximately 1–5 years of general ledger accounting experience, including month-end close and journal entries.
• Strong Excel skills including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and large data sets.
• Solid understanding of accounting principles, debits/credits, and general ledger activity.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams across the business.
• Ability to learn quickly, prioritize recurring tasks, and work independently with limited day-to-day guidance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, accruals, and other routine general ledger transactions.
• Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve reconciling items in a timely manner.
• Support month-end close activities, including close checklists, account analysis, and general ledger reviews.
• Navigate ERP systems to retrieve general ledger data, review transactions, and support routine accounting activities.
• Utilize Excel to analyze large data sets, reconcile accounts, identify variances, and validate financial information.
• Support accounting documentation, internal controls, audit requests, and related compliance activities as needed.
• Assist with data validation, testing, and other activities related to system implementation.
• Communicate with cross-functional teams to research discrepancies, resolve questions, and maintain accurate financial records.
• Follow established SOPs while identifying and escalating issues when appropriate.
