Job summary

Amcor seeks a Supervisor in Phoenix to efficiently manage crew members while ensuring workplace safety and maximization of production goals. This role requires adherence to GMP/HACCP procedures and the ability to resolve conflicts effectively.

Job description

Responsibilities
  • Efficiently plan and direct crew members to maximize daily production.
  • Address personnel discrepancies and resolve conflict.
  • Issue praise or disciplinary action to employees fairly and consistently when needed.
  • Ensure employees follow safety practices and are working in a safe manner.
  • Monitor machinery and environment for unsafe practices or unsafe conditions.
  • Ensure all employees are in compliance with GMP/HACCP procedures.
  • Ensure all employees are in compliance with PPE requirements.
  • Follow all company and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Ensure all SQF requirements are adhered to (e.g., boxes on floor, tape usage, etc.).
  • Understand job requirements and be able to perform at IP, PMO Tech and Print Tech level.
  • Record production data accurately.
  • Monitor and ensure quality standards are met.
  • Minimize scrap levels.
  • Maximize production flow.
  • Hold crew meetings and encourage team building.
  • Train one crew member to be back-up group leader.
  • Maintain employee Kronos, performance and training records.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues and determine an appropriate action plan.
  • Ensure scrap is being accounted for accurately.
  • Ensure printers are repaired properly and promptly.
  • Minimize the use of support supplies such as inks, blankets, and rags.
  • Communicate effectively with incoming group leader.
  • Ensure communication of print technicians to incoming technicians.
  • Work with quality control to maximize quality and minimize downtime.
  • Effectively meet departmental goals of EFF, MEEF, and scrap.
  • Accountable for the safety of all employees for whom they are responsible, engaging in safety activities and providing clear, consistent communication of safe work expectations.
  • Support and investigate situations in which line/equipment stoppage occurs due to perceived, imminent safety risk.
  • Complete responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
  • Actively lead risk assessment activities, driving prioritized corrective and preventive actions to eliminate or reduce environmental, health, or safety risks.
  • Lead all required safety meetings (e.g., pre-shift, department, change management, general communication, town hall).
  • Complete incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions promptly and thoroughly.
  • Ensure proper training and development of all assigned employees for whom they are responsible.
  • Set goals for their organizational unit, achieve goals, and ensure all employees understand and work toward achieving goals.
  • Motivate and coach employees through good communication and frequent performance feedback; identify and coordinate additional training as needed.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience – High School Diploma or equivalent. Three to five years of previous supervisory, quality, and/or dry‑offset printing experience.

Language Skills – Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; use whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rates, ratios, and percent; draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
