Job summary

Amcor Flexibles, LLC is seeking a skilled printing press operator to maintain high-quality production during shifts. You will perform plate and size changes, match colors and complete daily quality audits, ensuring adherence to safety and environmental standards.

The role requires a high school diploma, ability to lift 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and proactive leadership to direct fellow employees in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to multitask.
  • Prior printing experience with good mechanical ability.
  • Aspire to become ThermoPrinting Pressman certified.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate others.
  • Able to lift 50 lb and climb ladders.
  • Stand/walk for 7 hours in an 8-hour shift.
  • Work in a dusty environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform plate changes on printing machines.
  • Perform size changes on printing machines.
  • Match colors using ColorCert, Chroma QA and Pantone.
  • Fill out Daily Quality Audit and related forms.
  • Complete piece inspections for each work order.
  • Monitor production schedule and follow instructions.
  • Maintain clean work area and proper storage of materials.
  • Ensure safety, environmental, and health requirements are followed.

Job description

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ensure proper set up of presses to attain production rates with minimal scrap.
  • Supply and stir ink wells as necessary.
  • Monitor and ensure print quality.
  • Wash print blankets and plates as necessary.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Ensure all color heads not in use are cleaned and ready for the next production run.
  • Organize your work area and prepare for the setup of your next job.
  • Maintain your section in a clean and orderly fashion.
  • Ensure printing plates are cleaned after each use and returned to the proper location for Graphic Arts.
  • Complete a job tracking form in the plate job jacket.
  • Monitor the production schedule for special instructions.
  • Clean ink bowls and return them to the proper location.
  • Maintain and enforce all company safety, environmental, and department of health requirements
AUTHORITIES:
  • Perform plate changes on printing machines.
  • Perform size changes on printing machines.
  • Match colors using ColorCert, Chroma QA and Pantone color book.
  • Required to fill out the Printing Tech Daily Quality Audit (EVV FCD-00493).
  • Required to fill out Trend Board Check Sheet (EVV FCD-00484).
  • Required to fill out First Piece Inspection (EVV FCD-00482) for every work order.
  • Complete WEBEFF paperwork.
  • Assign duties to operators on machines if necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma / GED equivalent
  • Strong organizational skills with proven ability to complete multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Prior printing experience with good mechanical ability
  • Taking necessary steps to become a certified ThermoPrinting Pressman
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and direct employees
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to climb ladders / steps
  • Ability to stand and walk for a minimum of 7 hours during an 8-hour shift
  • Ability to work in a dusty environment
  • Visual acuity of at least 20/40 corrected vision for distance and a minimum near vision ability to read 7-point font at 12 inches.
  • Ability to reach and lift overhead
