Job summary

Capitol Aluminum & Glass Corp. in Ohio seeks a dedicated supervisor for the door fabrication department.

First shift, with potential overtime (6:00 AM–4:30 PM on longer days), overseeing workflows for measuring, cutting, machining, and assembly of aluminum extrusions for commercial door products. Lead 2–5 production staff, interpret drawings, plan and coordinate work to meet schedule, and ensure safety and attendance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a leadership role or supervision in construction or job shop environments.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and layouts, and to plan workflows accordingly.
• Commitment to safety, attendance, and quality in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Interpret drawings and layout information; machine holes/slots as required.
• Lead 2–5 employees; direct workflows within the department.
• Plan, layout, and coordinate work to meet schedule; ensure timely production.
• Arrange equipment, tooling, materials, and supplies for shifts.
• Identify and diagnose production problems; implement corrective actions.
• Make complex decisions impacting product, process, or team; uphold safety rules.
• Maintain regular attendance and follow established guidelines.

Job description

Capitol Aluminum & Glass Corp. is seeking a dedicated, self-motivated individual to join our door fabrication department in our manufacturing plant. Plant operations are first shift only, generally Monday through Friday (hours 7:00AM-3:30PM with potential for mandatory overtime up to 10-hour days – 6:00AM-4:30PM).

The primary duties of this position include overseeing departmental workflows for measuring, cutting, machining, and assembly of aluminum extrusions for commercial door products. Other tasks may be required.

What We Expect:

Leadership capabilities, direction (communication), working with, and training for 2-5 employees in assigned work centers within the department.

• Ability to interpret a drawing, layout drawing information on material with or without templates, and machine necessary holes/slots/etc.
• Timely production of quality products; plan, layout, and coordinate work according to schedule.
• Arrangement of equipment, tooling, materials, and supplies to be available for work assignments.
• Anticipate, analyze, and diagnose production problems to coordinate corrective actions.
• Making complex decisions requiring a significant amount of judgment. Decisions may affect product, process, employee, customers, or suppliers.
• Follow established work and safety rules
• Demonstrate regular, consistent attendance

Job requirements:

• Previous experience in a leadership role and/or in construction or job shop atmosphere.

• Knowledge of layout and design of construction related products helpful.
• Ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds frequently during work shift.

• Experience with any of the following is a plus:
  • Welding and blueprint fabrication (this job does not require any welding)
  • Any type of machine shop, metal working, or wood working skills
  • Construction experience or classes, including carpentry
  • Window or door installation (commercial or residential)
