Job summary

Corning Incorporated is seeking a Digital & IT Intern for the Hemlock Manufacturing site for Summer 2027. The role supports technology services across the facility, with exposure to MES, troubleshooting, reporting, databases, and application development.

Ideal candidates are students in IT/CS/Data Science fields with strong analytical skills, collaboration, and a willingness to learn. The program offers housing/travel assistance and a final project presentation.

• Student pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in IT, CS, IS, Data Science, etc.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Responsibilities

• Learn the solar wafer manufacturing process and how tech supports plant operations.
• Support enhancements, configuration, or development within the manufacturing execution system.
• Assist with troubleshooting issues affecting manufacturing.
• Create or enhance reports and data visualizations using Power BI, SSRS, or AVEVA PI Vision.
• Use SQL and database concepts to support data interactions.
• Contribute to full-stack applications or web development as needed.
• Support interactions with infrastructure and plant technology systems.
• Explore Databricks, Power Automate, or other digital tools to improve plant processes.
• Document technical work, testing, findings, and recommendations.
