Job summary

Gotion Inc. in the Chicago area, IL, is hiring an Inventory Accountant to manage inventory accounting, reconciliation, cost analysis, and internal controls within a manufacturing setting.

This role collaborates with Finance, Supply Chain, Warehouse, Production, and Procurement to ensure accurate inventory records and compliant reporting. Experience in manufacturing or high-volume environments is preferred, with a focus on GAAP, ERP systems (SAP/Oracle), and advanced Excel skills to support

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2–5 years of accounting experience; inventory or manufacturing accounting preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
• Solid understanding of inventory accounting principles and GL reconciliation.
• Knowledge of U.S. GAAP and internal control requirements.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Strong Excel skills including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate across Finance, Warehouse, Supply Chain, and Production.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly inventory reconciliations across ERP, warehouse, and GL.
• Monitor WIP, raw materials, finished goods, and other inventory.
• Investigate discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions.
• Prepare inventory-related journal entries and reconciliations.
• Support month-end close and financial reporting for inventory.
• Assist in strengthening internal controls over inventory.
• Coordinate physical inventories and cycle counts.
