Job summary

Barrett Paving Materials Inc in Ohio seeks a detail-oriented QA/QC Intern to support our quality programs on paving and construction projects. You will gain hands-on experience in materials testing, process verification, and compliance with industry standards.

You will assist with field and lab testing of asphalt, aggregates, and concrete, document daily QC activities, and help ensure installed work meets project specs.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Materials Science, or a related field.
• Interest in construction materials, paving, and QA practices.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work outdoors and on active construction sites.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Previous lab or quality control exposure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with field and laboratory testing of asphalt, aggregates, and concrete.
• Help monitor and document daily quality control processes on paving and construction sites.
• Support inspection and verification of installed work against project specs and standards.
• Maintain accurate records of test results, inspections, and quality documentation.
• Assist with sample collection and preparation for laboratory analysis.
• Observe and learn QA/QC procedures, including material certifications and traceability.
• Collaborate with project managers, field supervisors, and safety personnel to ensure project compliance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives for quality systems and processes.

Job Summary

Barrett Paving MWC is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated QA/QC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) Intern to support our quality programs on paving and construction projects. As a QA/QC Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in materials testing, process verification, and compliance standards, helping ensure our projects meet strict industry and regulatory requirements.

Main Responsibilities

• Assist with field and laboratory testing of construction materials such as asphalt, aggregates, and concrete
• Help monitor and document daily quality control processes on paving and construction sites
• Support the inspection and verification of installed work against project specifications and standards
