Job summary

W3Global in Kentucky seeks a shift supervisor to oversee production, inspect operations, and maintain safety and quality on the floor.

You will supervise, coach, train, and evaluate Team Members while coordinating with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Production Control to meet customer requirements and daily targets.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, coach, train, and develop Team Members; conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations.
  • Maintain scheduled production volume, product quality, and efficient workflow.
  • Work closely with machine operators to inspect work in progress and review production reports for compliance with customer order quality and quantity requirements.
  • Investigate production delays, performance issues, and other operational concerns; implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Minimize waste and scrap through effective machine setup and operation.
  • Provide technical and educational training to support employee development and job enrichment.
  • Maintain safety, 5S housekeeping, equipment maintenance, and proper material storage standards.
  • Determine manpower needs for job changes, overtime, downtime, and other production requirements.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Maintenance, Quality, and Production Control departments.
  • Ensure effective shift-to-shift communication through pass-down meetings.
  • Build a strong team through coaching, employee development, and proactive performance management.
  • Identify and correct unsafe behaviors and workplace conditions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Purpose

Supervise assigned shift personnel and oversee inspection operations while maintaining production volume, product quality, safety, and efficiency.

Qualifications


  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 1-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or forging environment.

  • Previous supervisory experience preferred but not required.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to improve efficiency and productivity.

  • Excellent time-management and prioritization skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.



Work Environment


  • Primarily work on a non-temperature-controlled production floor, with occasional office work for computer-related tasks.

  • Must be comfortable working in a production/industrial environment.
