Job summary

MetaOption LLC is seeking an Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer to design and justify new machinery, equipment, tooling, and automation equipment. You will apply lean principles to reduce waste, improve quality, and shorten cycle times while supporting safety and productivity across manufacturing lines.

The role requires collaboration with Operations, Product Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance to develop specifications, perform time studies, and update routings as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• Experience or exposure to manufacturing processes and tooling.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Define and develop machinery, equipment, tooling specifications.
• Support safety, quality, and productivity through lean methods.
• Assist in root-cause analysis and data collection for improvements.
• Create and revise work instructions and routings as needed.
• Coordinate with Operations, Product Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance.

Job Summary

Defines, researches, develops, justifies, implements, and sustains safe, cost-effective manufacturing equipment, processes, methods, fixtures, and tooling. Use sound Engineering and Project Management principles, methods, and tools, aligned with customer requirements, product specifications, and quality standards. Contribute to new or modified equipment, machinery, continuous improvement projects, and departmental initiatives. Provide recommendations on safety, manufacturability, and product quality. Continual focus on safety, quality, and productivity; Lean mindset.

Essential Functions

• Communicates effectively with internal and external customers responding promptly to their inquiries meeting deadlines as scheduled.
• Contribute to and take on small projects interfacing with Operations, Product Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, and Warehouse personnel during the development, implementation, and follow-up phases of the projects.
• Help develop, document, specify, and justify new machinery, equipment, tooling, and automation equipment specifications.
• Analyzes team member requests for changes in methods of manufacture to improve Safety, Quality, Delivery, Costs, and best fit for existing equipment.
• Recommends and develops Manufacturing and Logistics methodologies that result in improved value to our customers through waste reductions, reduced cycle times, and increased product quality.
• Champions the creation and modification of work instructions in assigned areas for use by others in the organization to perform their work.
• Performs analysis for ergonomics, cost reductions, quality improvements, and improved efficiencies.
• Gather data and aid in root-cause analysis and troubleshooting as required.
• Performs time studies and create standards.
• Modify and create new routings.

• A high level of computer literacy, AutoCAD, Esprit CAM, Qlick, and MS Office Applications.

Experience

• 0-3 years related work experience.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or Industrial Distribution & Logistics, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.

Additional Information

Additional Responsibilities:

• Supports the Safety Committee as needed.
• Shared responsibility to maintain AutoCAD drawings of the facility, processes, and equipment with proper revision control.
• Shared responsibility to maintain and improve General Equipment and Machinery Specifications.
• Shared responsibility to modify and create new tool drawings and maintain tooling log.
