Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Manufacturing HSE Specialist in South Boston, Virginia. You will develop and improve health, safety, and environmental programs across manufacturing operations and lead incident investigations to prevent recurrences.

You will deliver HSE training, maintain documentation, and partner with engineering and production teams to integrate safety into projects and processes. A 3+ year background in HSE within manufacturing is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in OH&S, Environmental Science, Engineering or related field.
• 3+ years HSE experience in manufacturing or production setting.
• Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable regulations.
• Experience leading incident investigations and applying root cause analyses.
• Ability to deliver training and influence stakeholders at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve HSE programs across manufacturing operations.
• Conduct workplace inspections, audits, and risk assessments; drive corrective actions.
• Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses to prevent recurrence.
• Deliver engaging HSE training to build awareness and safe practices.
• Maintain HSE documentation, permits, and reports for compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and maintenance to integrate HSE in projects.
• Monitor environmental performance including waste, emissions, and storage.
• Support emergency preparedness, response planning, and drills.
