General Motors Manufacturing Group is seeking qualified individuals for current and potential future opportunities as a Group Leader in Production, Quality, or Global Supply Chain. You will lead teams, drive operational excellence, and apply independent judgment within Global Manufacturing Systems with a focus on SPQRCE.

The role covers production management, continuous improvement, quality and compliance, and leadership development in a fast-paced plant environment.

Qualifications

At least 1 year of direct supervisory experience or 5+ months as GM per diem group leader.
Experience managing people and addressing performance concerns.
Experience solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage conflict and make decisions.
Demonstrate a high analytical ability to solve complex problems.
Basic computer proficiency (Word, typing, email).
Willing to work weekends and rotating shifts.
18 years of age or older.
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Analyze and adjust daily manufacturing plans; manage manpower allocation and respond promptly to issues to maintain production flow.
Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment, navigate ambiguity, and drive accountability through people and processes.
Improve business results using Lean Manufacturing; identify and eliminate waste for Safety, Quality, Throughput, and Cost.
Develop and maintain Throughput Improvement Process action sheets; lead corrective and preventive actions.
Enforce quality processes with customer safety at the center; perform critical confirmations and ensure compliance requirements.
Drive quality through effective feedback/feedforward communication and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Coach and mentor team members and Team Leaders to foster skill development and adherence to standard work practices.
Conduct disciplinary interviews, manage grievances, and collaborate with union partners effectively.
Locate and analyze operational data to support accountability and continuous improvement initiatives.
Work in a loud manufacturing environment that may not be climate controlled; wear appropriate PPE; lift up to 15 lbs and up to 40 lbs periodically; stand/walk for long periods; occasional climbing.
