Job summary

Vesuvius USA is seeking a Group Leader to oversee daily operations of production, quality, paperwork and maintenance on the shop floor. The role directs hourly personnel and ensures safety and adherence to procedures.

You will drive continuous improvement with Lean and quality tools, coordinate with maintenance, QA and engineering, and uphold inventory controls while delivering on schedule. Candidates should have a 4-year degree, 5–7 years manufacturing experience, and strong data-driven

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5S and Lean manufacturing experience preferred.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with continuous improvement focus.

Responsibilities

• Create and promote a safe working environment across all departments.
• Supervise hourly production personnel to meet schedules.
• Lead plant improvement programs with Quality to improve yields.
• Coordinate maintenance to keep critical equipment serviced and available.
• Maintain inventory control and cycle counts; flag shortages.
• Define and ensure procedures are followed by hourly operators.
• Verify production test results for quality defects.
• Measure parts using calipers and CMM; compare to drawings.
• Conduct periodic audits of production activities and finished products.
