Job summary

The General Motors Manufacturing Group is seeking qualified individuals for current and future opportunities as a Maintenance Group Leader. You will lead a team of hourly workers to troubleshoot and repair complex equipment, enforcing UAW agreements and safety standards.

This role focuses on SPQRCE—Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment. Selected candidates will gain the chance to develop new skills while contributing to GM's shift toward electric and autonomous vehicles.

Qualifications

• One year of direct team supervisory experience or at least 5 months as an internal GM per diem group leader.
• Experience reading electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic blueprints.
• Experience solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage conflict.
• Experience leading people and addressing performance concerns.
• Demonstrate high analytical ability to solve complex problems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, email, and basic computing.
• Willing to work weekends and rotating shifts.
• 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and respond to the manufacturing daily plan and adjust operations as needed.
• Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
• Drive accountability through people and processes, including difficult conversations.
• Perform checks and tests and communicate results.
• Proactively offer solutions to operational or technical issues.
• Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
• Maintain productivity and quality per standards.
• Implement safety and housekeeping policies and practices.
• Collaborate with others outside the work group.
• Supervise use of labor, inventory, and machinery.
• Establish action plans to complete jobs or projects.
