Job summary

Jefferson Wells is seeking a General Ledger Accountant for a manufacturing-focused client in Ashburn, VA. The role involves month-end close, journal entries, and inventory costing within a manufacturing environment.

The candidate should have 3+ years of accounting experience, strong US GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with Excel and ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or NetSuite. This is a contract, onsite position three days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and general accounting principles.
• Experience with inventory accounting and cost accounting preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite).

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end and year-end close processes with deadlines.
• Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments per GAAP.
• Perform GL reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
• Handle intercompany transactions across entities.
• Support inventory accounting, including COGS analysis and cycle counts.
• Collaborate with manufacturing/operations to report production costs.
• Assist in financial audits with documentation and support.
• Contribute to process improvements and internal controls.
