Job summary

Flex-N-Gate is a leading automotive parts manufacturer in Southfield, MI that is hiring general laborers for a paint and assembly facility. No experience is required as training is provided, and employees will perform various supporting tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Opportunities include Assembly Operators, Loaders/Unloaders, and Finessers. You must lift up to 30 lbs, follow instructions, stay productive, and adapt to rotating tasks, with a 40-hour schedule and potential overtime.

Qualifications

• Must be willing to rotate on different jobs.
• Able to maintain an acceptable work pace throughout the day.
• Must be able to lift automotive parts up to 30 lbs, bending, reaching, twisting, and standing (90%) walk (10%).
• Responsible for own quality of product.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Self-motivated reliable team player. Must be dependable, on time.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Ability to learn new skills and behaviors.
• Must be able to read, write, walk, bend, carry, inspect, stoop, reach, twist, and stand intermittently.
• Must be able to work a 40-hour schedule, plus mandatory overtime and possible weekends, as required per production needs.

Responsibilities

• Assemble component parts using materials and tools in a predefined order and process.
• Tasks may require selection, manipulation, attachment of parts onto vehicles or components using power or hand tools, lift assists, or other equipment and machinery.
• Load and unload parts on the paint lines; set up line as needed to hang parts.
• Pack parts according to customer specifications; inspect parts prior to hanging and after painting for defects.
• Inspect parts to verify they meet customer specifications and proper identification; perform scratch repair, dirt removal and polishing; complete daily paperwork.
