Job summary

Armstrong World Industries in Libertyville, IL is seeking a General Labor team member to manufacture, assemble and package products in response to customer orders. The role operates in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

You will follow all safety policies, assist with production tasks, keep records, and support ongoing quality checks. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred; forklift training may be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• Manufacturing, assembly, material movement or machine operator experience preferred.
• Knowledge of manufacturing materials, fabrication processes and machinery preferred.
• Ability to learn forklift operation and other company vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Follow all Company and OSHA Safety Policies. Observe all safety precautions and plant regulations to prevent injury to self and others or damage to material or equipment.
• Assemble materials and package finished products for transport to customers.
• Operate machinery or stations as instructed by the Team Leader to meet scheduled demands.
• Properly maintain equipment. Use basic hand tools such as cutters, trimmers, measuring tape, sanding tools, etc.
• Ensure that the standards for quality, output, safety etc. are adhered to and improved upon.
• Keep accurate records of production, waste, quality checks undertaken. Report inventory discrepancies.
• Maintain good housekeeping and 5S standards.
• Maintain a high level of customer focus in producing quality products and services that do not sacrifice the safety of others, oneself, nor the environment.
• Commit to and follow the facility Mission, Vision and Values that support the AWI Operating Principles as an individual and team.
• Attend and participate in all required company training programs.
• Conform to all company policies and procedures.
