Optimus Technologies in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Production & Fulfillment Technician to join a small, autonomous team. You will become the Subject Matter Expert on Vector System assemblies, own shipping and fulfillment, and help ensure the highest quality product is provided to customers.

This full‑time, hourly role offers hands‑on mechanical work, opportunities to streamline processes, and collaboration with Engineering and Field Operations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of combined hands-on experience in manufacturing, mechanical assembly, shipping and receiving, warehouse, or fulfillment environments; production and fulfillment experience preferred.
• Strong hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble, disassemble, inspect, and correctly reassemble equipment.
• Comfort using hand and power tools, torque tools, and basic measuring tools such as calipers and gauges.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials.
• Accurate pick/pack and verify orders with attention to completeness and shipping documentation.
• Ability to troubleshoot, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Follow established procedures, parts handling requirements, and cleanliness protocols.
• Comfort with basic computer tools (email, spreadsheets) and quickly learn inventory, shipping, and production systems.
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, manage time effectively and balance schedules.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Excellent communication and collaboration to improve processes and resources.

Responsibilities

• Become Subject Matter Expert on all Vector System assemblies and subassemblies.
• Complete manufacturing orders focusing on mechanical assemblies; electrical tasks as needed.
• Program components for the Vector System and replacement parts.
• Define inspection criteria, perform quality inspections and testing; support nonconformance investigations.
• Train and support other assembly technicians on build methods, quality expectations, and new instructions.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Field Operations on prototypes and changes; focus on manufacturability at scale.
• Own shipping and fulfillment of Vector System kits, finished assemblies, and replacement parts.
• Verify orders against BOMs; package and ship; maintain shipping documentation.
• Coordinate outbound shipments with carriers and internal teams; obtain freight quotes.
• Receive, inspect, and store incoming materials; support inventory control and cycle counts.
• Maintain MRPEasy records; communicate shipment status to teams.
• Improve shipping/fulfillment processes; standardize packing; create work instructions.
• Track fulfillment metrics and use data to identify and implement improvements.
• Evaluate carriers and packaging to reduce cost and transit time.
