Job summary

Cannon Industries, a global sheet metal and custom weld fabricator headquartered in Rochester, NY, seeks a Manufacturing Floater. The role shifts between welding, CNC, punch press, brake press, laser, turret, finishing/grinding, shipping, and assembly as the biggest daily needs arise, under the Plant Supervisor.

You will help meet production goals, adhere to quality standards, and adapt to various tasks within a single day, contributing to a safe and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift 1–50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints preferred.
• Knowledge of the metric system preferred.
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documentation, etc.
• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards

General Job Description

Under the direction of the Plant Supervisor, floats between manufacturing departments depending on where the biggest need are at the time. May perform duties for rework, in Welding, CNC, Punch Press, Brake Press, Laser, Turret, Finishing/Grinding, Shipping and Receiving, and Assembly.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Have the ability to constantly lift and/or move 1-50 pounds
• Knowledge of how to read and understand blueprints preferred
• Knowledge of the metric system preferred
• Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documentation, etc.
• Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards

Protective clothing/equipment requirement:

• This position requires frequent walking, standing, bending (neck & waist), sitting, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting (neck & waist), and using both the dominate and non-dominate hands
• Constant lifting and/or moving between 1-50 lbs, regular lifting and/or moving between 51-75 lbs, and occasional lifting and/or moving between 76-100 lbs required
• Regularly works around heavy machinery equipment,
• Exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, and heights
• Requires the use of safety glasses and shoes, tight-fitting clothing without tears, hearing protection and gloves
