Job summary

Austin Cutlery & Tool is expanding from distribution into manufacturing and seeks a Controller to lead the accounting function and stand up manufacturing accounting in SAP S/4HANA. You’ll drive financial reporting, internal controls, and a high‑performing team, partnering with leadership to support operational decisions.

Requires 7+ years of manufacturing accounting and strong GAAP knowledge; CPA and ERP implementation experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting.
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience in manufacturing.
• Experience with cost accounting, standard costing, inventory accounting, and manufacturing reporting.
• Experience leading month-end close and financial reporting.
• Experience mentoring accounting staff.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close across multiple entities.
• Deliver timely, accurate, and audit‑ready financial reporting.
• Oversee the general ledger, balance sheet reconciliations, and technical accounting.
• Coordinate external audits and support lender and executive reporting.
• Lead, coach, and develop the accounting team.
• Design and implement manufacturing accounting in SAP S/4HANA with standard costing, WIP, and variance analysis.
• Oversee inventory accounting, valuation, reserves, and cost analysis.
• Partner with Manufacturing, Operations, Engineering, and Supply Chain.
• Serve as Finance's functional lead for SAP processes and ERP implementation.
