Job summary

SPX Technologies, including the Engineered Air Movement business, seeks a Financial Analyst to partner with Sales, Operations, Engineering, and Finance to deliver accurate reporting, forecasting, and actionable insights. You will support cost accounting, inventory, and capital project analyses in a manufacturing environment.

You will build budgets, maintain rolling forecasts, and drive improvements in forecasting models and operational reporting to inform sound business decisions.

Qualifications

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, data analysis, and financial modeling.
  • Proficiency in data mining, query generation, and translating large or complex data sets into clear financial insights.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial information and respond effectively to questions from auditors, leaders, and cross-functional partners.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; 2-4 years of relevant experience; manufacturing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a thorough understanding of assigned financial reports and provide recommendations that support financial health and performance.
  • Compile and analyze financial information to maintain GL integrity and ensure inventory and manufacturing transactions are recorded accurately.
  • Participate in Operations meetings, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives with financial guidance and data validation.
  • Maintain monthly close files including P&L, gross margin walks and operating expense reporting.
  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation for cost accounting and inventory.
  • Analyze monthly reports, explain results vs budget/forecast/prior periods, and identify trends and opportunities.
  • Prepare margin analyses (standard, gross) and recommend actions based on results.
  • Develop and improve operational reports and KPIs communicating financial implications of manufacturing activities.
  • Support capital expenditure analyses and ROI evaluations for operational projects.
