Job summary

First Quality is seeking a Facilities Project Engineer for its Salt Lake City, UT operations to plan, coordinate, and execute projects that improve manufacturing processes, equipment, and facility operations.

The ideal candidate has a Mechanical/Industrial/Chemical/Electrical/Manufacturing Engineering degree and 3–7+ years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience, including capital projects, budgets, and lean/CI expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
• 3–7+ years of experience in manufacturing, chemical/process, or industrial engineering environment.
• Experience managing capital projects and budgets.
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and continuous improvement tools.
• Experience with automation, process optimization, or equipment validation.
• Familiarity with GMP or regulated manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead manufacturing capital and continuous improvement projects from concept through implementation
• Develop project scopes, timelines, budgets, and resource plans
• Partner with Operations, Quality, Maintenance, Safety, Supply Chain, and leadership to align projects with business goals
• Oversee equipment installation, upgrades, and commissioning
• Manage contractors, engineering firms, and equipment vendors
• Analyze production processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost performance
• Manage contractors, vendors, and external partners
• Oversee equipment specification, procurement, installation, and commissioning
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
• Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations
