Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician in New York to perform routine maintenance on equipment and facilities to support production. You will follow safety regulations, inspect and report defects, and collaborate with the team to maintain a clean, safe, and efficient plant floor.

The role requires experience in carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and machine repair, with a focus on timeliness and accuracy in documentation and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• High school or technical school preferred.
• 3 years of factory-related maintenance experience.
• Familiar with safety, lockout/tagout, HAZMAT, forklift safety, ESD and quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks to support the assembly area and facility as directed by the supervisor.
• Identify and report defective materials or unsafe conditions to management.
• Keep work area and equipment clean and orderly, following safety regulations.
• Perform preventative maintenance on machinery and building/grounds as directed.
• Present a professional tone and image to customers and vendors at all times.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting for department documentation.
• Maintain housekeeping to Golden Broom Program standards.
• Attend on-site or off-site training as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
