First Solar, Inc. is seeking a maintenance-oriented technician to support the installation, qualification, and ongoing service of manufacturing equipment on the production line.

The role emphasizes hands-on troubleshooting, defect reduction, and participation in operator upskilling. Candidates should have strong electrical/mechanical knowledge, be self-directed, and communicate effectively to keep processes on target.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associates degree in a technical discipline or two+ years machine experience.
• One year First Solar technical experience.
• Six months EMT experience with rating of 5+ in EMT proficiency categories.

Responsibilities

• Solves day-to-day production, equipment, and process problems.
• Performs on-site service and repair of equipment.
• Identifies and implements yield and product performance improvements.
• Accomplishes daily assignments as scheduled and as directed.
• Develops methods to assign causes to yield excursions.
• Sets up and maintains gauges.
• Ensures processes run on target per the Process Control Plan.
• Responds to SPC alarms and returns processes to control.
• Executes planned process experiments, analyzes data, and reports results.
• Tran­sitions new equipment through start-up, qualification, and implementation.
• Provides training to production associates.
• Develops and updates internal documentation and SOPs.
• Interfaces with internal and supplier personnel to complete projects.
• Maintains understanding of area processes, equipment, and support systems.
• Maintains effective communication with the manufacturing team.
• Disposes non-conforming product per criteria.
• Follows safety and housekeeping standards.
• Ensures proper waste handling and disposal.
