Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. is seeking a process documentation professional located in Franklin, PA. The role focuses on detailing fabrication and machining processes, updating work instructions and routers, and designing fixtures to reduce cost and lead time.

Collaboration with engineering, quality, and supply chain is essential. Responsibilities include creating 3D fixture drawings, implementing design for manufacturability, and managing engineering changes for drawings and instructions.

Qualifications

• 2 yr technical degree with 5 to 8 yrs related experience or 10 yrs related experience and high school diploma
• Can organize, prioritize and track work requests from multiple sources from outside and inside the ME department
• Ability to express manufacturing concepts conversationally face to face, over the phone and in email
• Ability to work with people on a manufacturing floor with a productive, non-combative nature

Responsibilities

• Document processes for fabrication and machining of parts, sub-assemblies and machine assemblies, with limited supervision
• Update work instructions for identified processes, engaging manufacturing, quality, and engineering with limited supervision. Improve work instruction content and delivery methods.
• Update routers, referencing similar-to parts, and fabrication and machining standards
• Cost parts, referencing similar-to parts, and fabrication and machining standards
• Design and draw fixtures for work holding to reduce manufacturing cost, lead time, and quality
• Support Design for Manufacturability and Assembly - engaging with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain
• Input, prioritize, and track requests from Supply Chain, Quality and Engineering for Fixtures, Burn Profiles, and Work Instructions
• Document manufacturing processes with models, drawings and text descriptions
• Inventor CADD modeling, Design/Work Instructions/Technical Documentation
• Designing Assembly, Lifting, and Misc Features for Operations/Safety Demands
• Working with Operations/Engineering to develop best practices for assembly of machines
• Create and manipulate three-dimension drawings of fixtures
• Process engineering changes for manufacturing drawings, routers, programs, and work instructions
• Create plate burn profiles from engineering drawings
• Initiate engineering change requests for drawing detail, clarity, and consistency; working with design engineering to close issues
