Job Description

ComSonics Manufacturing Solutions in Weyers Cave, VA, is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join our innovative team!

We're looking for a detail-oriented problem solver with a passion for technology and manufacturing. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our engineering team to create, verify, and refine assembly documentation—ensuring accuracy and seamless compatibility with production processes and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Review drawings and documentation for completeness, accuracy, and interface with mating assemblies.
  2. Write clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation used by manufacturing to produce products repeatedly.
  3. Assist in prototype builds of new assemblies and conduct training for staff.
  4. Identify process improvements to enhance quality, improve productivity, or reduce costs.
  5. Initiate and assist with implementation of Engineering Change Notices.
  6. Understand and perform programming and operational functions for key equipment: AOI, Pick and Place, Wave solder, Aqueous Cleaning, Reflow Profiling, Screen Printers, X-Ray, BGA Rework, etc.
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
  • One year of experience in a manufacturing, electronic, or engineering environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using basic hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
