Job summary

Parker Hannifin Corp in Simi Valley, CA is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support setup of product inspections, develop quality processes, and assist with operations. The role emphasizes applying analytical methods to improve manufacturing quality and efficiency.

You will interpret drawings, assist with development and product evaluation, create test plans and reports, and collaborate with maintenance teams.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Interpret drawings, procedures and process documents to support Operations with their procedures.
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering in development and product evaluation activities.
  • Create product test plans, procedures and reports with guidance.
  • Assist with process validation test programs to ensure products meet design specs.
  • Explain drawing and process requirements to operations as needed.
  • Support equipment maintenance with advanced diagnostics.
  • Analyze and troubleshoot to identify root causes of failures.
  • Select and procure tooling and equipment through requisitions and expenditure approvals.
  • Contribute to welding and brazing development and qualification.
  • Maintain consistent attendance; may work nights/weekends as needed.

Parker Meggitt, a recent addition to Parker Hannifin, is a global leader in the Commercial and Military Aerospace markets, specializing in a wide range of products including fire and smoke detection systems, extinguishing systems, bleed air overheat detection systems, actuators, rudder pedal assemblies, pumps, fuel gauging systems, and high-temperature cables. Located in Simi Valley, CA, this site is within the Fire Safety & Power Systems Division (FSPSD) and is a key supplier in select energy markets, particularly in nuclear gas analyzers and nuclear containment vessel penetration cables. We work directly with some of the largest aerospace companies in the world, including Airbus, Boeing, Embraer, and Lockheed Martin, among others.

Manufacturing Engineering Technician
Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineering Technician provides expertise in setting-up and conducting product inspections, product evaluation, creating/updating quality process documentation, and operations support. Ensures high quality processes for Meggitt products/components.

Responsibilities:
  • Interpret drawings, procedures and process documents to support Operations with their procedures
  • Support Manufacturing Engineering department in execution of development and product evaluation activities
  • Creates product test plans, procedures and reports with guidance
  • Assists with process validation test programs to ensure products/systems meet design specs
  • Acts as a resource for operations to explain drawing and process requirements
  • Support equipment maintenance team with advanced diagnostics of our equipment
  • Performs analysis and troubleshooting to determine root causes of failure of product and equipment
  • Select and procure tooling and equipment using purchase requisitions and approval for expenditure process
  • Other responsibilities as assigned
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
  • Assists with welding and brazing development and qualification
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. May need to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and additional hours as necessary
Qualifications:
  • Able to apply expertise in systematic discipline and analytical approach to problem solving
  • Ability to apply processes and procedures to accomplish tasks
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with raw material processing, and assembly
  • Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint experience
  • Effective interpersonal skills to drive tasks to completion
  • Effective oral and written communication
Education:

High School Diploma/Equivalent and work experience that will allow successful performance of job expectations.

  • Pay Range: $29.8/hr to $49.65/hr
