Position Overview:
As a Manufacturing Engineering Technician at Carfair Composites, you will be an integral part of our manufacturing operations team. Your role will involve developing, implementing, and improving production processes to enhance productivity and product quality. You will collaborate closely with engineers and operators to troubleshoot challenges and implement solutions that drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing, installing, and optimizing manufacturing systems and processes.
- Identify and troubleshoot issues during production to ensure minimal downtime.
- Collect and analyze data related to production metrics and performance.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
- Support new product introductions by establishing detailed manufacturing procedures.
- Conduct experiments and collaborate with suppliers to improve tooling and fixtures.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental policies.
- Document processes, improvements, and maintenance activities accurately.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share best practices.
- Provide training to production staff on new processes and standards.
- Undertake other related tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Technical diploma or degree in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing setting supporting engineering functions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with multitasking ability.
- Proficiency in CAD software and MS Office applications.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles is advantageous.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience with fibre-reinforced plastics (FRP) is a plus.
