Job summary

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems in Sykesville, Maryland is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join the Power/Control Systems team. You will develop assembly instructions for first-time builds, mentor assemblers, analyze defect data, and support root cause and corrective actions while collaborating with manufacturing engineering to implement new processes.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED with 4+ years of manufacturing experience, proficiency with MS Office,

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED with 4+ years manufacturing experience.
Experience using MS Office tools.
Experience as a Manufacturing operator/technician.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
US citizenship.

Responsibilities

Develops assembly instructions for product for first-time-builds.
Mentors and trains new and experienced assemblers on newer builds.
Gathers and analyzes defect data to identify defect trends.
Supports program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions.
Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and implement new processes and process improvements.
Assists engineering in creating designs and/or developing products and processes; Documents drawing errors and suggests improvements.
Develops and constructs experimental and prototype devices, models and systems working from very general information.
Designs, develops, and assembles manufacturing aids such as holding fixtures, jigs, dies, harness boards, etc.
Adheres to established procedures and practices as required to ensure compliance.
