Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to join the Power/Control Systems team in Sykesville, MD. The role focuses on creating assembly instructions, mentoring staff, and analyzing defect trends to drive process improvements.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with 4+ years of manufacturing experience, proficiency in MS Office, and the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or GED with 4+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • Experience using MS Office tools.
  • Experience as a Manufacturing operator/technician.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance; US citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Develops assembly instructions for product for first-time-builds.
  • Mentors and trains new and experienced assemblers on newer builds.
  • Gathers and analyzes defect data to identify defect trends.
  • Supports program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions.
  • Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and implement new processes and process improvements.
  • Assists engineering in creating designs and/or developing products and processes; Documents drawing errors and suggests improvements.
  • Develops and constructs experimental and prototype devices, models and systems working from very general information.
  • Designs, develops, and assembles manufacturing aids such as holding fixtures, jigs, dies, harness boards, etc.
  • Adheres to established procedures and practices as required to ensure compliance.
  • The ideal candidate will have the ability to effectively communicate and work with a variety of internal personnel; self-directed, organized, and team oriented.
