Job summary

TRIAD Engineering Corp is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Support Specialist to join the engineering team. The role focuses on diagnosing production defects, analyzing processes, and implementing improvements in a hands-on, team-based environment.

The specialist will develop and update process and material specifications, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs, while designing tooling and fixtures. Proficiency in SolidWorks and strong problem-solving skills are required.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience preferred; less experience allowed if in Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering roles.
• US Person status may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineering team in diagnosing production defects, analyzing processes, and implementing improvements.
• Provide technical support in development and improvement of manufacturing processes.
• Inspect and ensure processes are specified, documented, and executed.
• Develop and update process specifications, material specs, drawings, and bills of materials.
• Support design and specification of tooling, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and equipment.
• Prepare fixture designs and drawings using SolidWorks.
• Troubleshoot production and material issues with short- and long-term solutions.
• Recommend and initiate engineering changes and update documentation.
• Support development of manufacturing products and processes.
• Manage multiple projects concurrently with strong organizational skills.

Our very busy client has an immediate contract need for a Manufacturing Engineering Support Specialist to assist their engineering team in diagnosing production defects, analyzing processes, and implementing effective improvements.

About the Role

This is a hands-on, team-based role in a dynamic manufacturing environment where the Support Specialist will be responsible for providing technical support in the development and improvement of manufacturing processes while inspecting and ensuring that processes are properly specified, documented, and executed. They will also be developing, designing and updating process specifications, material specifications, manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials as well as supporting the design and specification of tooling, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and manufacturing equipment. The Manufacturing Engineering Support Specialist must be proficient with SolidWorks to prepare fixture designs and manufacturing drawings and be able to troubleshoot production and material issues, providing both short-and-long-term solutions to improve efficiency and quality.

Qualifications

• B.S. in mechanical or equivalent in experience, training or course work.
• Candidates with 3+ years of experience preferred but candidates with less experience will be considered as long as they have worked in an Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering role.
• Due to the nature of work performed at this facility, US Person status may be required.

Required Skills

• Proficient with SolidWorks to prepare fixture designs and manufacturing drawings.
• Experienced in microscopy and metrology, including optical, digital, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for surface and defect analysis.
• Proficient material science knowledge that includes metals, ceramics, polymers, composites, and their behavior in manufacturing processes.
• Skilled in advanced manufacturing technologies, including additive manufacturing, and conventional manufacturing methods.
• Experienced in root cause analysis and problem-solving using tools such as 8D, Fishbone diagrams, 5-Whys, and FMEA.
• Proficient in process data analysis and statistical modeling, with experience using JMP, Excel, or similar software for process capability studies, and root cause studies.
