Kelly Engineering has partnered with a rapidly growing industry leader to recruit a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for the Columbus, Ohio area. You will lead the Engineering team and drive continuous improvement across anodizing, assembly, metallizing, and related processes, applying Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and data-driven methods to improve throughput and yield.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
  • Experience with anodizing/metal finishing manufacturing processes.
  • Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with root-cause investigations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team to support production, launches, and capacity expansion.
  • Guide development, optimization, validation, and standardization of chemical-processing operations (anodizing, wastewater).
  • Improve process performance through data analysis, process controls, root-cause investigation, and corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Quality, EHS, Maintenance, Product Development, Supply Chain, and suppliers to implement improvements.
  • Lead initiatives to improve throughput, yield, scrap, equipment reliability, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness.
  • Oversee process and equipment qualification, documentation, work instructions, and engineering standards.
  • Manage capital projects from business case and equipment specification through vendor selection, installation, commissioning, and validation.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methods.
  • Manage engineering resources, budgets, and project portfolios; coach and develop engineering talent.

Kelly Engineering has partnered with a rapidly growing industry leader to recruit a Manufacturing Engineering Manager for a direct-hire opportunity in the Columbus, Ohio area.

The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the development, implementation, standardization, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes across anodizing, assembly, metallizing, wastewater treatment, and facility support systems.

What you’ll do

  • Lead and develop the Manufacturing Engineering team, setting priorities that support production, new product launches, capacity expansion, and continuous improvement
  • Guide the development, optimization, validation, and standardization of chemical-processing operations, including anodizing and wastewater treatment
  • Improve process performance through data analysis, process controls, root-cause investigation, and sustainable corrective actions
  • Partner with Operations, Quality, EHS, Maintenance, Product Development, Supply Chain, and suppliers to resolve process challenges and implement improvements
  • Lead initiatives to improve throughput, yield, scrap, equipment reliability, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness
  • Oversee process and equipment qualification, documentation, work instructions, and engineering standards
  • Manage capital projects from business case and equipment specification through vendor selection, installation, commissioning, and validation
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement methods
  • Manage engineering resources, budgets, and project portfolios; coach and develop engineering talent

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline. Chemical Engineering is highly desired
  • Previous experience with anodizing/metal finishing manufacturing processes
  • Previous formal leadership or supervisory/lead experience
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience leading root-cause investigations and corrective actions
  • Strong communication, project management, and cross-functional leadership skills
