Manufacturing Engineering Manager – Aerospace

Position Summary
The Manufacturing Engineering Manager will lead a team of Manufacturing Engineers responsible for developing and improving manufacturing processes, supporting production, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.
The role will work closely with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Purchasing, Production, and Supply Chain teams to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Manufacturing Engineers.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and product structures.
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, workflows, and production processes.
- Estimate production times, labor requirements, equipment needs, and manufacturing costs.
- Create and maintain CAD models and manufacturing documentation using CATIA V5 or similar CAD software.
- Generate engineering drawings and product structures that accurately reflect customer requirements.
- Establish manufacturing tolerances, work instructions, and process documentation.
- Provide engineering support and technical solutions to production teams and subcontractors.
- Coordinate engineering priorities with Operations, Quality, Purchasing, and Production.
- Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
- Identify and resolve manufacturing challenges through analytical problem-solving.Drive improvements in productivity, quality, cost, and waste reduction.
- Ensure compliance with company safety, quality, and manufacturing standards.
- Support a culture of innovation, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred; Associate's degree considered with relevant experience.
- 5+ years of Manufacturing Engineering experience.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or team management experience.
- Experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing environments.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and engineering methods.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with CATIA V5 or similar CAD software.
- Experience with Epicor ERP.
- Hands-on experience implementing Lean Manufacturing and Kaizen.
- Strong CAD, engineering drawing, and technical documentation skills.
- Demonstrated Continuous Improvement mindset.
- Experience working in a highly regulated or quality-driven manufacturing environment.
